What was with the 80s and having a bunch of idol mecha anime? This is probably the 6th OVA that I’ve watched with the same premise. And like others, it’s ok. Another random OVA from the 80s that lies forgotten due to mediocrity.
I think this show was more of a parody of the trope. It’s clearly making fun of itself and others with a similar premise. The live action product placement, the comedic villains, and the really generic characters really lend to that theory. My favorite character was the dude that barely said any real words and was a blob with glasses for most of the show. This show is a light short watch that is reasonably enjoyable for what it is.
