Vampire Miyu gets a similar feeling from me that X/1999 got, it's ok. I feel like I'm missing content that the manga and anime has that adds more impact to things and have more explanation. While it's not as bad as X/1999 throwing you into things without context, I feel like the OVA doesn't do enough for it to really have any impact for me.

I finished watching it and didn't feel anything other than "wow, that sure was an anime". I even tried to read liner notes from AnimEigos release to see if I missed anything. There are some interesting notes about the naming of things in the show but nothing else.

At least X/1999 had the amazing looking animation and weird visual but this doesn't even have that. The entire thing is average. The soundtrack, average. The animation and presentation, cool at times especially in the first EP but still average. The character, average. I took absolutely nothing from this 4 part OVA.
