Yugioh is trading card game that was really popular in the late 90s- mid 2000s. I wouldn't say it was as popular as Pokemon but definetly had a lot of fans. It kinda started to fade from the mainstream early 2010s. Which is funny because that's when I got into it. This is around the time they where airing Zexal and still aired reruns of Dual Masters. I kinda movded on from the interest eventually back to pokemon.

It was based on a the anime that was based on the manga. The main character is named Yugi and the basic plot is him getting partially possesed by an ancient pharoah after solving something called the Millennium puzzle. Evertime Yugi or his friends are threatended it comes out and challenges the person to a dual. A bunch of shit kinda unravels with the origins of the Millennium puzzle and stuff like that.

The early parts of the scene where mostly playground games at school. Eventually people started holding local events where people could play eachother. Usually at gamestores and where nerdy people hang out. It kinda continues to function like that to this day. Except that theres now bigger events held along with leader boards and such.

About 4 years ago I got back into it after I was given some booster packs. I would absolutley consider myself casual, don't really take tournaments seriously nor do I keep up much with the meta. I mostly play at a local gamestore on thursday and play Master Duels online. I am a huge fan on yugioh itself tho so yeah.

Get ready to Dual!!
